Burnley are reportedly close to signing Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni from FC Basel in a move to strengthen their attacking options.
The young forward had a breakout year in Switzerland, having spent the year on-loan from Lausanne Sports impressed enough on loan to secure a permanent move to Basel.
Now despite only joining the club permanently two weeks ago, Amdouni could be about to move to the Premier League.
This is according to a report by FootMercato in France, which claims Burnley are targeting the Swiss international, with it being said the player was ‘seduced by [Vincent] Kompany’s speech’.

Negotiations are reportedly advanced between all parties and Burnley are keen to close the deal over the next few days. A reported fee of €18m (£15.4m) has been reported as agreed and it appears a move is imminent now for the Swiss star, according to FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Who is Zeki Amdouni
Amdouni is a forward who has burst onto the international scene over the past 12 months. Following his loan-move to Basel he quickly made his Swiss senior debut and has gone on to make five-caps while scoring five-goals.
Contributing 22 goals and providing five assists last season in all competitions for Basel is an impressive feat and no doubt caught Vincent Kompany’s eye.
Former Swiss striker and briefly manager of Amdouni at FC Basel, Alexander Frei, is hugely complimentary about the 22-year-old’s talents.
He remarked last October, “Zeki’s qualities are absolutely indisputable.”
He described his former forward as:
“He is someone who always finds himself in a good position and who creates a lot of chances.”
Would he be a good signing for Burnley though? The simple answer is that it’s difficult to say, with such a large leap in quality between the Swiss Super League and the Premier League.
Amdouni did however score seven in 11 Conference League games last season which should give Kompany faith in his target.
