Burnley are set for a return to the Premier League this season and will be hoping a good pre-season sets them up well. So, here is everything you need to know about The Clarets’ summer plans.
Vincent Kompany will lead his side out at Turf Moor for the seasons first game on Friday night against Manchester City in little over a month. Therefore good preparation is key, which is exactly what the club are arranging to have.
The club have already played one pre-season game on July 1st, facing Fleetwood Town, with The Clarets winning 3-2 at Barnfield Training Centre.

Burnley have arranged a series of behind closed door friendlies over the next few weeks along with a trip to Portugal, facing Genk and one yet to be announced opponent.
When does Burnley’s pre-season start?
Preseason has already began with behind closed doors friendlies taking place. Kompany’s side returned to training early in June for a bootcamp, before another break.
The Clarets will now be gearing up to face their first announced opponent, last seasons Belgian runners up, Genk at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday 22nd July.
The club will then head to Lisbon, Portugal for a week long training camp before concluding the trip with a friendly on July 29th against a yet to be confirmed opponent.

With only one announced opponent, Kompany and his side will also face a host of Championship and League One sides in preparation.

The Turf Moor side will be providing training coverage along with televising the two accessible games on their in-house media channel Clarets+. Apart from that you can buy tickets to the fixture against Genk from €10 (£8.57) per adult and €5 (£4.28) per child.
