Burnley have signed talented Irish midfielder Josh Cullen to a new three year contract, following his teammates Anass Zaroury and Manuel Benson in doing so.

27-year-old Josh Cullen has committed his immediate future to the Clarets, with a new three year contract signed.

This will keep Cullen at Turf Moor until at least 2026 which will come as good news for Vincent Kompnay who clearly trusts the Irishman.

Cullen followed Kompany from Anderlecht to Burnley last season making 50 appearances in all competitions and won both of the clubs player of the year awards.

Cullen has followed both Anass Zaroury and Manuel Benson in signing a new contract this summer for the Championship winners.

The Republic of Ireland international captained the side in their Premier League return against Manchester City and was among the only players to put in a good performance in the 3-0 defeat.

Following the signing of his contract, Cullen spoke to club media.

Cullen on new contract

Cullen spoke with club media to discuss his joy at signing a new contract for Burnley.

He said: “I’m really happy to extend my time here, especially off the back of last year which was a really successful year for the Club. I can’t wait to continue my career with Burnley.

“It will be great to get back to Turf Moor this weekend and be in front of the fans again and hopefully get our first three points on the board.”

His love for the club is one which the fans share for him, given his huge season last year.

He will play a key role in any success that comes to the Clarets this season, we can’t wait to see him back in action on Sunday against Aston Villa.
