Burnley are now set to target Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville after missing out on Sunderland winger Jack Clarke.
According to the Sunday Mirror, the Clarets are considering a bid for the 21-year-old who signed for Leeds from Feyenoord back in 2020.
This comes after the Black Cats told Clarke they would not be accepting any offers for him this summer.
Burnley’s bid in excess of £10m was knocked back by Sunderland, hence their attention turning to Summerville.
The Netherlands Under-21s international has made 40 appearances for the Whites since arriving a few years ago, scoring four and assisting two in that time.

34 of those appearances have come in the top flight, so the youngster is aware of the level demanded by the Premier League and could prove to be a tidy addition for Vincent Kompany’s squad.
No doubt a promising talent, Summerville may be tempted with an instant return to the top flight with Burnley instead of taking his chances in the Championship with Leeds this season.
If he were to make the Turf Moor switch, the Dutch forward would likely be one for the future signed with the vision of progressing into a regular starter in the coming years.
He would, of course, still have a role to play within the first team set-up and could shine earlier than expected given the opportunity.
Summerville praise
Former Real Madrid striker Michael Owen was full of praise for Summerville last season following his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
“This is such a good goal. Look at that for a touch [Summerville’s first]. The ball is behind him. He takes one lovely touch with the outside of his foot, then another one to keep him away from the defender and finishes it brilliantly.
“This is a really hard chance. He’s behind the defender in many ways when he gets the ball. I mean how he does that is really, really exceptional,” Owen said in his analysis of Summerville’s goal, during the Premier League’s coverage.
This could be an interesting deal to keep an eye on.
