Scott Twine has described Vincent Kompany’s attention to detail as “frightening”, as he discussed the Belgian’s success at Turf Moor.

The Clarets midfielder, has provided an insight into behind the scenes work that Vincent Kompany insists on.

Kompany took charge at Turf Moor in 2022, and in his first season has led Burnley to a dominant Championship title.

The former Manchester City defender amassed 101 points and saw his side defeated only three games across the entire league campaign.

Now, he is preparing to make his Premier League managerial debut, as his Burnley side welcome Pep Guardiola and his treble winning side to Turf Moor.

A very fitting start to his Premier League life, facing the club at which he made 360 appearances; winning four League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups.

Kompany as many ‘students’ of Guardiola do, plays a similar style of football and has turned Burnley into an unrecognisable club to what it was before his arrival.

Twine praises Kompany’s attention to detail

One of Kompany’s valued lieutenants at Burnley is Scott Twine, who says that Kompany’s success is no surprise or coincidence, given all the hard work.

Speaking on the Life of a Kitman podcast, Twine explained that “In terms of match prep, it’s different for every game,”.

The 23-year-old Englishman continued, “We have our things we work on but then the pressing, the way we set up, the way we pass out from the back, the way we’re going to score, it’s different for every team.”

Before he admitted that “The analysis he does is frightening. He must watch hours and hours of games.

“I think there were games this season where we won before a ball was kicked, just because of everything.”

Twine also revealed he was convinced to make the move to The Clarets by Kompany, following a meeting with the 37-year-old manager.
