Burnley are reportedly interested in offering a contract to free agent winger, Andros Townsend in a bid to bolster their attack.

The former England international has been looking for a club since leaving Everton earlier this summer.

He has been featuring for Burnley during pre-season and now seems to have impressed enough to earn a contract.

Burnley are said to have offered the winger a contract deal to join the club, according to Mail Online.

On-top of a move for Townsend, the Clarets have also held talks with Troyes winger Wilson Odobert.

Clearly Vincent Kompany is prioritising his wing positions as he looks to sure up any weaknesses ahead of the season.

What Townsend will bring to Turf Moor

More than anything, Townsend is massively experienced in the Premier League, with over 250 games played in the division.

He has experience with the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and obviously Everton.

The 32-year-old is primarily a right-winger but can play across the front line and has racked up an impressive 25 goals and 35 assists in Premier League action.

He is also an experienced England International, earning 13-caps for his country with three goals too.

Townsend is a technically good winger who is always capable of a wonder-goal from range.

Who is Wilson Odobert?

By contrast, Burnley’s other target Odobert is just 18-years-old and would be a signing based on potential more than anything.

He came through the PSG academy before moving to Troyes last summer on a free transfer.

Featuring 32-times he scored four goals and assisted two in just his first professional season, despite Sochaux being bad enough to get relegated.

With a market value of €6million (£5.1m), he would be a significant outlet, but the potential is there, so would absolutely be worth it.
