Burnley have lost ground in their transfer hunt to sign Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx who currently resides with Wolfsburg.
According to a report from Belgian sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri. He reported that Celta Vigo have entered talks with Wolfsburg over a potential move for 20-year-old Vranckx.
He continued that this has seen the Spanish side overtake Burnley as the two battle for the young Belgium international’s signature.

This follows last week’s report on the transfer from L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi. He revealed The Clarets had made their first offer for Vranckx which was said to be around €12million (£10.2m) excluding bonuses.
Burnley won’t be surprised with the competition, given the expected list of suitors. Vranckx failed to impress AC Milan while on-loan therefore the Rossoneri decided against triggering the €12m (£10.2m) buy-option they had in the contract.
But it now appears Wolfsburg will receive a fee similar for their talented young midfielder, with Vincent Kompany’s first bid matching that fee.
Who is Aster Vranckx?
Vranckx is a two time Belgium international who has been a name ringing around the European scene for a while, earmarked as having top potential.
Breaking through as a 16-year-old with KV Mechelen in the 2019-20 season. He made nine Jupiler Pro League appearances in his debut season.
He went on to make 47 total appearances for his boyhood side, racking up five goals and four assists from central-midfield.
He then made a move to Germany, joining VFL Wolfsburg in 2021 for €8m. At Wolfsburg he made 29 appearances but didn’t seem to fit.
Due to this he spent last season on loan at Milan where he made just 10 appearances with one assist to boast about.
He made his Belgium debut last move in the European qualifiers against Austria and Estonia. He impressed in these games, assisting a goal in his country’s 3-0 win at the A.LE COQ Arena.
