Burnley ‘prepared to pay’ over the odds for Eredivisie star

Burnley are now keen to strengthen their left-back berth and have been linked with Feyenoord’s Quilindschy Hartman.

The Clarets are making their Premier League return this season and have already brought in nine new faces.

This rampant recruitment has been in a bid to make Premier League survival theirs.

The nine new incomings have come in for a combined £56.5million, according to Transfermarkt.

The arrivals have been headlined by Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni and Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford.

Additionally Jordan Beyer has arrived along with Dara O’Shea, Michael Obafemi and Luca Koleosho for fees.

Nathan Redmond and Lawrence Vigouroux have joined on a free-transfer, while Jacob Bruun Larsen has arrived on loan.

Burnley want Hartman

Now, Burnley look primed to make a move for their tenth signing, with a full-back targeted as a replacement for Ian Maatsen who won’t be returning.

According to a report by Dutch outlet 1908.NL, Burnley are prepared to pay over €20million (£17.2m) to bring in Hartman.

The Dutchman is high on Vincent Kompany’s list with Feyenoord’s asking price likely to appeal to the Clarets.

The 21-year-old is coming off his breakout year in a Eredivisie winning season at Feyenoord.

Hartman is an all-rounder at left-back and excels in both an attacking way and defensive.

Brilliant on the ball at progressing play through his passes and dribbles, he also has a high assist average for his position.

Defensively he is brilliant in the air winning lots of his aerials and often makes blocks and interceptions.
