Vincent Kompany is keen for Burnley to continue their summer spending with a move for Italy international Wilfried Gnonto targeted.

Kompany has had substantial backing this summer which has never before been seen at Turf Moor.

Nine names have come in so far, with various others expected over the next week.

This includes the potential addition of fellow Sander Berge from fellow Premier League new-boys Sheffield United.

The move for Berge would not only see Burnley strengthened but also would significantly weaken a direct rival.

With a deal for Berge close, it seems now the Clarets are now looking toward Leeds United for their next target.

In a deal which along with Zeki Amdouni, gives Burnley a very talented front-line.

Burnley want Gnonto

Burnley are said to be interested in signing Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds, who seems willing to leave following the lily whites relegation.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Burnley are keen on adding the 19-year-old to their attacking department.

Kompany will likely face competition for the talented Italian from Everton, who have been keen on Gnonto for a while.

Gnonto joined Leeds last summer and impressed throughout last season in a struggling Leeds side.

The highlight of his season coming probably at Old Trafford when he struck in the first minute with a goal.

He finished the season with four goals and four assists for Leeds which is a great return considering the teams situation.

Gnonto has been praised heavily last season by Gary Neville who complimented the Italian for being mature along with his understanding of the game which he praised as “really good”.

It will be an interesting few weeks to see what happens regarding this potential deal.
