Burnley are set to sign Anderlecht defender Hannes Delcroix.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Belgium international is set to move to Turf Moor for a fee of £1million, along with a sell-on clause. He will be signing a three-year-deal, and his medical will be on Monday.

The 24-year-old is primarily a centre-back, and has been at Anderlecht his whole professional career. He has been a backup at the Belgian side of late, but played at the club when Vincent Kompany was in charge, so the manager will know exactly what he is getting.

Would Hannes Delcroix be a good signing?

Whilst Delcroix is more than likely going to be a backup for the Calrets, it does cast doubt over some of Burnley’s other centre-backs.

Burnley already have a number of options at centre half, with the likes of Dara O’Shea and Jordan Beyer signing this summer, with the latter signing permanently after his loan deal at the club last season.

The Clarets also have other options like January signings Hjalmar Ekdal and Ameen Al-Dakhil, and CJ Egan-Riley, who returned after spending last season out on loan at Hibernian.

They have let two of their centre-backs leave however, with Luke McNally leaving to joinStoke City on loan for the season, and Bobby Thomas who has joined Coventry in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £2 million.

Burney have mainly looked at attackers throughout the window, with the likes of Johan Bakayoko being linked.

With the options they have, it does cast some doubt over their current options and their futures, with it now looking likely we could see a few departures, whether that be on loan or in permanent deals.
