Burnley have made a bid for Benfica defender Romas Araujo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley have made a bid of an initial season-long loan, with an option to buy of €20 million, and will become mandatory if Burnley avoid relegation.
It is also said that Benfica have received a loan offer from German side Stuttgart.
Who is Tomas Araujo?

Tomas Araujo is a 21-year-old centre back who has been at Benfica his whole career. He spent last season on loan at Gil Vicente in the Portuguese top flight, making 22 appearances and scoring one goal.
He is also a Portugal under-21 international, making only one appearance so far.
Araujo is a brilliant right footed ball-playing centre-back, with high numbers in ball progression for someone in his position and at his age. He is very comfortable bringing the ball out the back, whether that is through playing the ball or progressing with it himself into the opposition’s half. This is shown by his two assist he picked up last season.
He’s quick, strong, has brilliant technique, great in the air and very mature for someone his age.
Burnley have been looking to bolster their defensive options, recently bringing in Hannes Delcroix from Anderlecht, whilst this week they have been reported to have had a loan bid rejected for Tottenham centre back and England international Eric Dier.
They have also been looking at attacking options, reportedly looking at hijacking Southampton’s deal for Genk winger Joseph Paintsil. They’ve also been linked with bringing in Leicester City striker Patson Daka on loan, in a late move.
